Young trumpeter Alec Aldred makes a convincing case for his trumpeting talent as well as his ability as a bandleader and composer on Momentarily Temporary, his debut album under his own name. Bringing together a cohort of outstanding players assembled during his time studying at The Frost School Of Music, Alec deploys their talents admirably in a program comprised of his own evocative compositions, with a few classics thrown in for good measure. The musical and personal ties that this ensemble forged during their time at Frost, and display to beautiful effect on this album, has served the musicians on this album well as they move into positions as in-demand players and recording artists on the national jazz scene.
